The Ministry of Transport seeks to enhance its capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence as part of its digital development and modernization plans aimed at enhancing service efficiency and performance across various transportation sectors. In this context, an Artificial Intelligence Unit was formed within the Computer Science Department of the Planning and Follow-up Department to enhance communication and coordination with relevant government agencies and contribute to the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive artificial intelligence policy in Iraq.
* Developing human cadres by organizing specialized workshops and training courses for employees in the Ministry and its formations, to enhance practical and theoretical knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies and their applications in the transportation sector.
* Decision support: Providing analytical reports and recommendations based on artificial intelligence tools and techniques to support strategic and technical decisions within the ministry.
* Enhancing the work environment by implementing artificial intelligence programs and systems that contribute to improving workflow and increasing the efficiency of operational processes.
* Developing an artificial intelligence strategy, leveraging the expertise of internal and external cadres to develop policies and operational plans that ensure the optimal use of artificial intelligence in all transportation sectors.
* Formation of the unit: An artificial intelligence unit was created and administratively linked to the electronic calculator department, specifying the necessary tasks and powers.
* Institutional cooperation: Initiate dialogues and coordination with relevant government institutions and relevant bodies to ensure support for the initiative and follow up on policy implementation.
* Scheduling workshops and training courses A periodic training plan has been prepared targeting various job levels in the Ministry.
* Preparing application plans and developing detailed plans for applying artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of analysis, prediction, monitoring, and performance improvement.
* Improving the quality of transportation services and increasing their accuracy and effectiveness.
